Galley pump inop???

I have a 2008 246 cuddy with the galley pump, sink and transom shower. Last year it was winterized. This year when going to flush it and put nfresh water in I could not get the water to flow. I can hear the pump working. I filled it with water to get pressure. However, I still get no water coming out of either device. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the pump needs to be primed or the filter needs to be cleaned....

How would I prime it?

There is a valve between the fresh water tank and the pump on my 2006 EC 250.  If you have one, check to see if it is closed.  I had the exact same problem this year.  That valve just needed to be opened.

I do not remember seeing a valve. ?? It is a Jabsco unit.

I agree with UtahEd and before you start check all your lines for a kink that could prevent priming.

I miss it and tried to prime for over an hour when it was the hose kinked.

My 246 does the same thing if the screen gets clogged in the sink or the rear sprayer.  Just unscrew the screen of the faucet and  the sprayer and clean them out.  I have to do this every year because it picks up the sediment from the bottom of the tank when I run all the antifreeze out. I would start there.

   If you have no kinks or valves, and you just need to prime the lines, get a wet vac, turn on the water, and hold the vac to the faucet head, try to make a seal with you hand or something.  It should suck the air and then water right out.

Fixed! I duct taped a shop vac to the shower and suck the water thru. sink and shower both work now. thanks for all the advice. ^:)^

Glad it worked for you.  I have done the same thing when I have the boat pulled and I lose prime on the a/c system.  I just hit the fitting for the water out for a second and it re-primes the whole system for me.

shop vac also works on the vacuflush system. if the pump runs and runs. blow air in bottom of the toilet with the peddle open. Press down to seal. then run the vac for about 10 sec. Pull the hose out very slowly as it can blow back. that should clear the duckbills.
