I had a 2655 Bayliner Ciera that had a straight shower pump. A few years later I had my mechanic put a sump box in (boat was already there getting fixed or I would have done it myself) it seemed to work fine and I didn't think too much about it but I could always here water running when the shower drain was used and it didn't seem like the sump box pump came on. I decided to investigate a year later and found my mechanic mixed up the hoses and put the discharge outlet for the sump box on my air conditioner condensation tray hose. Every time the shower drain was used (which really wasn't that often) the water would pump into the AC condensation tray and overflow, then run back to the mid bilge area and be pumped out by the mid bilge. Sometimes it pays to do things yourself!"Mosi on Dahn" 2003 Fiesta Vee 270

I would not try to re-use the box. After 17 years, the plastic is probably getting brittle. Just get a new one. West Marine usually stocks them.
