This is just a quick picture of my 342 on my new trailmaster trailer. They did a real nice job on the trailer. It is a 21K lbs steel trailer that pulls much nicer them my old 18K aluminum trailer.
In that picture it is being pulled with a f-550, i think a signal axle one ton would also do it but it would be getting close to the total bumper tow rating. Yes i get a permit anytime we take it any distance. It was a nerve racking tow from the marina to where we keep the boat in the winter with the old trailer, this trailer make the job a lot easier. The old aluminum trailer would flex and creek, this trailer pulls nice and smooth!
Looks great. I never noticed the difference between the steel trailer on my 260 and aluminum on my 270. How about the brakes? All axles? I have been interested in the electric over hydraulic for my next venture. -Paul
The brakes are electric drum on all axles, they work better then any of the surge brake set-ups i have had. I wish i would have spent a little more and got the electric over hydraulic, is the electric brakes performance ever starts to diminish i will look into a EOH conversion.
That's a sweet set up. When there haul me out in fall full of fuel and some stuff it weighed in at 16500. Last year a guy hauled mine home with a Ford 550.

Just the boat was 16500. The lift has a gauge. A 2005 342 is 14280# dry. 200 gallons of fuel is around 1500#. I would imagine his trailer is about 4000#.
The trailer weighs 2811#, the total GVWR is 22050# for a capacity of 19239#. The width is what makes trailering it tricky. I have trailer the same length boat with a 8' 6" beam before and it was a lot less stressful.

Did that include the weight of the trailer?
