Mercruiser 3.0 135 Hp Replace Engine

OK guys, my motor is shot.  One of the cylinders is bad and the block is cracked so I have to replace.  Do I have to replace with the mercruiser engine?  If so, any ideas on where to find one?
Can it be replaced with a car engine?  It says Volvo on it.

    I found a used 3.7L for sale.  Would that be an easy swap?

    Don't marinized engines have cams different from auto engines because of different operating parameters? Not sure what all else would need to be done to an auto engine to render it suitable for marine use.

    Well if it says Volvo its not a Mercruiser. Either replace with an other Volvo or if you replace with a Mercruiser you will have to replace the everything. The outdrive, transom brakets, so forth and so on. If it were me, I would replace with a new Volvo........ Just say'n

    A lot of work to make convert auto to safe/legal marine. In some cases valve overlap can cause water ingestion. Agree with @raybo.
