Flushing

Really my first experience with closed system cooling.  I have Volvo 380s with the closed system and will be keeping the boat on a lift slip in brackish water.   Have heard from some that I should flush the engines for five to ten minutes after every use.  Do I simply connect the water hose to the connector on the starboard side of the engine and turn it on?  Do the engines need to be running at that point?  Should I also use the "easy drain system" after every use?

Welcome to the forum, you are literally right down the river from me.  I don't think using the easy drain system would do any good at all.  If you have a flush connection, then it'd be ok to do that.  I would assume you'd run the engines, but I'm not as familiar with the Volvo connections.  Maybe you can take a picture.  I'm on a lift also, but can't say I've ever flushed mine (it's a closed system as well).
