The speedometer gets its info (air pressure from water pushing up) using a rubber tube that runs to one of the outdrives. They tend to get clogged which makes them stop working.
I know you want to see all your gauges working, but the speedometer is not very accurate even when it is working. Your better off monitoring your speed with your gps.
