Horn - 2001 Captiva 232CC

Hi all, I know this has been discussed but can't find it.

I need to replace the horn on a Captiva 232CC. I found the horn grille cover (#84132-1) on Great Lakes Skipper but not for the horn that fits it. Anyone know the part number?

I had to improvise when I replaced the recessed horn on my 342.  The original had a unique shape.  I ended up getting a standard recessed horn and cutting the opening up more to allow it.

It's an Aqua Signal horn. GLS has transposed two letters. Here are a few links.

Ok. I ordered a Aqua Signal from Amazon. Way too big. Measures 6" in width. The one on the boat (tip of the bow) is 4 3/8". No way to modify because of contours on port and starboard. Can anyone think of the direct replacement?

I'm suprised they mounted it like that, seems like water would enter the horn.

If it does, it drains into the anchor locker and out the side.

Try taking your old horn apart and clean the contacts inside, maybe you can get it working again.

It is the Aqua Signal horn, just a smaller version of what you got.

That's an odd place for the horn. The one on my '03 232 is on the side of the boat.

Agreed.  I'd think that would collect water like crazy.

My horn was not working several years ago. Took the horn out and there are contacts that look like points in an old distributor on outer edge. Took emery paper and cleaned the contact surfaces. Has been flawless since. Mine is an Ongaro brand horn but might be same principle.

Awesome. Glad it worked out. Bummer that the OEM horn is no longer made. Sorry for leading you down the wrong path with the Aqua Signal horn, which was the OEM horn.
