Yes, you will be fine just be careful that you do not backdraft CO into your cockpit. I used to keep a portable CO detector at the helm and yes, it did go off a couple of times. We just adjusted the canvas a bit to get better draft and no problem.
I've always wanted a true answer to this and I've never gotten it. I see a bunch of, "you should be fine" but are they designed to be ran while running on plane for extending amounts of time.

I’ve done it many times on my 06 342. Longest run is an hour, I’ll admit that when we come off plane I ask the admiral to make sure the genny is spitting water out the side and the ac is running and sure enough it is. All good. Ac and genny have water pickup scoops.
......once again - thanks to "real" boating professionals (like Al) - Rinkers are just awesome boats often in ways other manufacturers don't even think about!
Hmm that looks like it was changed, my scoops on the generator and mains protrude out more and the intake vents face forward. I think someone has changed something there, does not look like you can run on plane. are you positive that’s not the head intake?
Mine is the same as the pic 2005 342. Have the scoop one's on the engines through hulls and toilet. A/C and genny have the screen type. No worry not running gen while driving.
wow, that thing could really easily suck something large up in it? My other than gen thru hull are more screens but my genny does not look like that- but my 270 does not run 50 either but when I cruise at 25 or so, no issues running the genny.

Here is my generator pickup. Al, is this the newer one that can run at all plane speeds?
Ok, makes sense.
