Holding tank management with Big Orange Filter

My new to me 330 EC came with the Big Orange Filter. Pretty excited about that having boated for many years on boats with heads and fighting odors.  Do folks still use head chemicals to break down solids/cut odors, or strictly rely on the filter to handle everything?

Yes! I use CapmaChem from WalMart.  6 bottles for about $7.  To re-fill your big orange you can get bulk charcoal for fish tank filters from the pet store.  I normally do that at the beginning of the season.

The Big Orange will take care of the odors. I just buy the refil kit from them annually.

Filter works, you don't need chemicals. Just replace the carbon once every year ... you might get 2 out of it, if you don't use the head that often.

I use a big orange and happy camper treatment. It works WAY better then the Walmart stuff, I use one scoop each time we go out.    No odors.
