03 Rinker 270 FV Radar Arch

Got an 03 270 FV that did not come with a radar arch. I am looking to add one but do not like the factory arch that leans back. I am wanting one like what comes on a Chaparral. Something that leans forward and has the option of having a bimini top attached. Surely I'm not the only person that's looking to do this. If anyone has any suggestions or pointers, im all ears. Any help is greatly appreciated.

greatlakesskipper.com has arches for 270s.  I wonder if you could just mount it backward?

I'm literally in the same boat. No arch but don't like the back slanting one. Here is what it would look like with the factory arch facing forward. Not bad too bad!!

That's a good idea.  Maybe I'll try that.

My question was meant to get more thought on the design of the arch and how it attaches to the boat.  I don't know if flipping around is possible.  There could be an issue with the shape that would only allow it to go one way.  Like if the bottom part is canted in or out instead of straight.  It's something that would require some research.  I'd be looking for someone who's added an arch to a 270.

What are your goals for adding an arch?  Are you planning to add radar, rocket launchers or some other gear?  Are you getting custom canvas that attaches to the arch?

If you add an arch, you'll probably want to put the VHF antenna, anchor light and other stuff up there, and you might want cockpit lights and/or speakers on the inside.

If you're not insistent on the factory look for the arch, an anodized aluminum tube arch is worth considering. They can be mounted leaning forward or aft, but everyone I've seen installed leans back to put the rod holders over the cockpit. But I don't see any reason it can't lean forward if that's what you want. The cost is dramatically lower, but of course not the "factory" look that may be the deciding factor.
