Port engine

I have a 310 fv with twin Merc 5.0s. The port side engine has had trouble starting very 3-4 times we go out. Usually I get it going but today I couldn’t. It will turn over. But not start. Sometimes as I turn off the key is gives a little kick like it wants to start. But today couldn’t throttle it to stay chugging. Any advice?  My local marine store said he thinks it’s the anti siphon valve.

When was the last time you did maintenance items? Fuel filters, plugs, cap & rotor?

Also try battery to all the mpi likes to spin good to start

I had regular maintenance done last summer. I cleaned the flame arrestor and added gas stabilizer and got it running. Ran smooth. We will see if it happens again.
