Canvas Zipper Broke after only 13 months.

My zipper broke.  I've only had the boat 13 months. There's an end piece that keeps the zip together when it is zipped up.

Where can I get this piece? What's the warranty on the canvas?  Thanks

See this picture.

It should have an end piece like the one I'm pointing two.

call a local canvas guy. MIght be able to crimp in a new piece, otherwise it's replace the zipper time.

Call the canvas company.  I bet they will take care of it.  You should get at least 10 years if taking care of the top.

Those just 'pinch' on. 1 min fix at a canvas place.

I called the canvas company, Ameritex Fabric System. Unfortunately no sympathy from them. They do not cover the zipper and so after only 1 year of use (and I've actually only taken this piece off 2 times EVER) - I get the "It needs to be replace. I'm sure a local canvas company can fix it".

... that is exactly what I wanted to hear.

Can't Rinker step and provide some support here?  This is pure BS.

A canvas place will charge you 5 bucks, it takes 1 minute . Just bring it to your local place. I'm sure if you asked Ameritex to fix it if you shipped it to them they would.

My issue is I can't take it off and leave it exposed for weeks if I am to send it to Ameritex. I am in Canada.

I will try and find a local canvas company to fix it.

    Thanks NY320.

Here's a link to an upholstery supply place in Ontario (Midland).  In your case Mark, you're better off just finding a local top shop to fix your zipper.

Frustrating I know. But it can be fixed for a couple of bucks, the stop/start of the zipper is put on by hand since the zipper is a long part cut to size. Save yourself the agony and get a local canvas guy to fix it.
