engine rebuilt (new engine has about 2 hours on it). The reason for the rebuild was due to engine overheating which led to discovery of a cracked piston. My question is should I feel comfortable purchasing this boat.....I'm just a little concerned buying a 'rebuilt' engine. Asking price is $8250.

To answer your question on rebuilds, there is nothing wrong with a rebuild as long as it is done correctly.  Obviously the minimum you should do, is check not only pressure, but leak check on all cylinders.  Was it a rebuilt block (ie Jasper) that was put in, or did they just rebuild the original?  At that price, it seems like they are trying to get some of the money back for the engine they rebuilt.
