5.7 quit

First trip out today. Was running fine cruising around 1800 RPM and port side just quit.  Tried to restart but just a click.   Docked about a half hour later and tried to start.  It started ran 5 seconds and then what sounded like a clunk. Tried again around two hour later and then just a starter clunk, but engine will not turn over.  Oil pressure was at 40, and temp was around 150.  Everything looked good until she quit.   Tried to start the starboard after docking and nothing.  I went back and set the battery switch to both and then it started.  Port still an issue.  

My first reaction was engine seized so I immediately checked the oil level and it was right where it was supposed ot be.   

Any ideas?

From your explanation I'd say you threw a rod.  Ie a piston shaft broke.

sounds like a hydro lock... how old are your manifolds and risers?

This was a Jasper engine installed in 2015.

Yes, what I was thinking too.

Found battery voltage low at 11.1 volts.  DC volts at fridge 7.8 volts.

House battery was HOT when I checked it today.  Promptly replaced it and fridge is working as it should.    Can the house battery affect the engines in any way?

Could be an outdrive issue, I thought I siezed my motor (2000 5.7) but started and ran few a few minutes after it cooled down. A bearing in the upper part of my outdrive (Bravo III) went and locked up the drive, and stopped the motor as well.

@memorymaker Normally the isolator keeps the batteries from interfering with each other, unless you have your battery switch set to combine house and starting.

Pull the plugs and see if you have water, sounds like a hydrolock to me as well.

remove plugs and crank.

Plugs were removed.  No water.  Compression even at 180. Put plugs back in and engine is running fine.

House battery was 7.8 volts at fridge, but is isolated.  Starboard battery 13.2 volts.  Port battery I cannot reach.  Port battery ammeter shows around 12.1 while running.

When running you should show above 13 volts.
