Question about battery switch

Never thought to check into this before.  Both starting battery switches have an emergency start position.  Does anybody know if that combines the 2 starting batteries, or the starting battery to the house?  

Just curious.

Its supposed to combine the 2 but trying to figure out all those wires is a nightmare.

I'm not trying to re-wire or anything, I was just curious.  I'm most likely to run my house down so combining them wouldn't help much if I was was on the hook for the weekend.
