Trolling rod holders

I just bought a 2004 Rinker 312 and it does not have a trolling rod holder. Any suggestions as to how and where to add this to my cruiser?  I love fishing..

What do you fish for?  Here on lake Michigan I do fine trolling for salmon by using clamp on rod holders on my bimini and stern railing.  I can run 6 rods.

There's enough space on the gunwale to drill for flush rod holders if you want to that route

East coast Cheasapeake bay/Potomac River and fish for rockfish.  Blues when running but not a great fish for eating - to oily.  So thanks. Will be down at boat this week and will check.  Where did you get clamp on holders?

on my 310, it came with 6 flush mount perko holders on the back can side gunwales.  previous owner fished for rock a lot in the bay.  2 are on the outside corners and then there are 4 others that you can see in this pic.

If you are serious about fishing and if you have an admiral that will allow you to drill for flush mount holders I'd go that route.

My biggest concern with fishing is keep hooks away from the seats ect...I usually put a cloth over the stern seats and remove the carpeting when I fish.  Carpet and hooks don't go good together.

How fast will you be trolling? Important, as it can decide what is appropriate or not. For salmon fishing on lake Ontario we go 2.5 mph, and I had mounted some Scotty rod holders for my rods.

I use the Scotty's also and like them. Just couldn't being myself to take a hole saw to the gunwale of the boat.

What's nice about the Scotty's is they unclip and you are left with a fairly discrete base.

You can also get all kinds of attachments for that base for other things ... even a gas bbq holder.
