I agree with Stodge. List it for reasonable price and have it ready to test ride. If a boat is ready to go, makes the buyer that much more confident and ready to buy. Nothing wrong with trying to sell it yourself first, then you can always try a broker. But, if you are with a broker, you will pay their fee (you're usually locked in for a time period) even if you find someone on your to buy it.
Bought and sold 2 boats on Craigslist, the last being a 2007 246 BR! Have also sold tons of other stuff on there. Just beware of scammers, they are pretty easy to weed out tho.
