Adding aftermarket wake tower to an old boat

I have a 1998 Captiva 232. The boat is in great condition (to my untrrained eye) and has only 200 lake hours on the motor so it hasn't done a whole lot of work. There is some spider-web crazing in the gelcoat around the cabin door and some of the snaps for the carpet but nothing that seems excessive for 20 year old fiberglass
I would like to add an aftermarket wake tower (one that bolts towards the rear and swoops forward) but I am concerned about the stress that the drilling and use of the wakeboard will place on the old fiberglass that is no doubt much more brittle with age than it was when new.
Does anyone have an opinion on this?
