Replacement tank sensors

Since I have my mid-berth taken apart I'm looking at options for replacing the tank level sensors.  I gave the existing sensors a twist and they are set pretty tight.  I'd like to switch to the film style sensors.  Couple questions for the forum.

Is there a replacement film sensor that would work with the existing Fireboy display?

Has anybody switched out their tank level sensors/display and what did you switch to?

My buddy replaced the sensors on his 04 342 with the same model that was installed and found them at greatlakesskipper, still had an issue with the display so he ordered that too but hasn't replaced yet

I ordered a set of "tape on" external sensors.  My hope is that the signal is close enough to the existing sensors that I can get a reading.  I'll post more as I learn more.
