Volvo Penta digital gauge cluster.

I’ve noticed in the past few days, that the port side LCD digital gauge cluster, has begun to appear blurry and has a dark spot in the middle of the display . It makes it very difficult to read in any light condition. I spoke with Outstanding Marine in Maryland, and I was advised that this could be caused by heat or direct sunlight. The latter of which, I never allow to occur.
Since these items cannot be repaired (as I’m being told) I figured I would just replace them. (If I replaced the port, I might as well replace the starboard at the same time).
I was advised that these digital gauges cost $1950.00 each!!
Just wondering if anyone has had any similar problem or could offer a suggestion for repair or replacement at a lesser amount.
Below are the gauges.

I've heard that guagesaver.com can refurbish a burnt/black/blank LCD on just about any screen: Volvo, Yamaha, Mercury, Raymarine chartplotter, etc.... for $75 - $150 but I have not used them. They can not do Volvo backlights but can do the screen.
