epoxy to use when rebedding hardware

I have some water leakage in a handle on the transom door, and in the starboard stern cleat. I understand the importance of drilling the holes out larger then filling with epoxy, or gouging out some of the core material (as with a bent nail on a drill) and then filling with epoxy protect the wood core from future leaks. What I'm not sure of is how specific the epoxy needs to be. For example, I have 3 different epoxies at home now. They are JB Weld Quick Set, HFT Instant Setting Epoxy Adhesive, and Marine Tex.
I was leaning toward the Marine Tex because it states it's more of a putty consistency and might be easier to work with on a vertical surface.
Are any or all of these suitable?
