310 EC Wood Step Refurbishment

Our - new to us - 310 EC's wood steps looked pretty awful compared to the rest of the boat, so as the first thing on the Admiral's "Honey Do" list -- with some sanding and two coats of Watco Teak Oil I feel they now have a new lease on life.

Anyone else use Watco - and any experience in how long it lasts?

Since we're on Lake Michigan and the season is only May-October, I'm guessing this will just be a once a year treatment. Which is fine with me, since I like the hand-rubbed look.

Handymans342 - I looked at tung oil based products but went with the teak oil because of the shorter dry times and more of a hand rubbed finish. May I ask what your thought process was for using Waterlox?

Its a mix of tung oil and resins. Diggin uses it on all his steps and other products. Not saying yours isnt good but I just have a preference. Waterlox.com
