Time to take a trip

This weekend we're headed to Sarnia for Lobsterfest.  We'll be there Friday and Saturday, then Sunday headed to Grand bend for 2 nights, Bayfield for 1 night, Goderich for 1 night, Kincardine for 2 nights, then back across Lake Huron to Lexington for the art show.

Haven't gotten out much due to some elder care issues.  Looking forward to 9 days on the boat.

Kincardine is the only new port for us.  It's a Scottish village and sounds really nice.

Had a great trip.  Everything went as planned.  Only had "bad" water from Bayfield to Goderich, but it isn't far so we toughed it out.  Saw the bagpipers at sunset on the lighthouse at Kincardine.  Had some rain but mostly at night.  All in all a good trip.  Still have to pull the trip info and tracks.  

One of our traveling companions lost an engine 8 miles out of Kincardine on the way back tot he US.  No word yet on the cause but sounds like maybe head gasket.  Had lots of oil in the bilge.  They limped across lower lake Huron to Harbor Beach, then next day toward Port Huron before Tow Boat got them hooked up.

Mike with the Four Winns only came to Sarnia.  It was a SeaRay Amberjack.  Lost an oil hose/line.

We went just a shade under 300 miles and burned just a shade below 300 gallons.  I get an average of 1 MPH.

@Willhound I made sure to do that last year on our long trip too.

@GMSLITHO it was 9 days.  

Next year we plan a Lake Erie trip.  Maumee Bay, PIB (or Middle Bass), Cedar Point, Pele Island.

If I can pull it off, I want to do a 2 week trip to Georgian Bay but have to wait till 2021 to do it.  Too many other vacations in the queue.

I use to take trips like that when i had a 28 foot wooden boat on the Hudson riverbank in the early 80's  ,no Im on a small 9 mile lake and really just use the boat for daytime use ,I was going to move it to the river last week and had a slip reserved in Hoboken for the weekend but my truck was in the shop .We changed plans and drove to Saratoga Ny for the weekend ,it was nice but,it wasn't boating

Shelby (the dog) gets worn out on trips like this.  She's is always on-guard and wants to see what's going on so she doesn't nap during the day like normal.  The first thing she did when we got tied up at home was to lay down in the yard and snooze.
