Anchor Rode/Horizon 600

So looking to replace my anchor rode, used it for the first time and had a hard time catching and where the chain and rope met was kind of ragged. 

Talking with the Dark Horse Marine, they recommend 9/16in rope for the 600. My goal was to get 1/2in so if upgrade to a 700 down the road I won't have to replace the rode as well. 

Anyone have any issues with 1/2in in a 600 or should I just get 9/16in?

They also say the 600 is only compatible with 3 plait which I thought for sure 8 plait was too.

Can always go all chain.  I got 200 foot of 1/4 inch anchor chain on Amazon for $400 shipped.

@McGarnicle...not so easy. Those 600's can come with different gypsy' s that take different size rode and chain. Model will be stamped on the side of the drum.

they made my new rode = 5/16 s.s. chain 20ft & 5/8 200ft 3 strand heat set
have used so far this season with no issues= great service and 312.00 shipped

Ordered my new rode from americanrope too. 1/4” G4 30’. 200’ 8 strand plait. Amy was great to work with there.
