Trouble removing Mercruiser Alpha One Gen. 2 outdrive

Transmission is in forward (full throttle)
Speedo tube removed
Trim rams disconnected
6 bolts removed

Outdrive is about 3/8" off the gasket but won't pop loose.  I have gear oil seeping from the starboard side

Help?

I believe the shift should be in neutral....other than that, you may just have to really man handle it to get it off.

It's possible your engine alignment is off causing it to bind.

Could be frozen in the bearing

Alpha shifter in forward position.
Put a pry bar between the transom and drive down where the trim rams are.
Lift up the drive at the bottom and drop down on the bar.
It probably the orings on the shaft coming though the gimbal bearing.
