Removing plastic cup holders

Any suggestions on tricks to remove old plastic cup holders on a 2002 Rinker 272?  I am replacing with stainless, but the old ones are tough to remove.

Try fishing line or floss around the top edge to cut the sealant.

I used pliers on the lip of the cupholders and twisted them inward.  Mine had a very liberal amount of sealant on them and I had to do this to break the sealant loose.  They came out in pieces, but they did come out!

Like @aero3113 stated above, fishing line works very well to cut the sealant.
