Transom Seal

Is it possible for the transom seal (bravo 3) to leak a bit when putting the boat back in the water after being on the hard all winter, and then after the seal gets wet, it seals itself up so no more leaking? I know this happens with the hulls of wooden boats and am wondering why I had a leak early in the season and nothing now. Thanks.
