Generator not running great

When I run the generator and turn on the air conditioner or microwave the generator will sound as if is going to conk out and then go back to normal mode then keeps going back and forth but will not stop working.  Is this normal.

You saying the gen set is hunting(up and down). Sounds like it's time for some plugs. The gen set will run fine till you ask it to work hard.

Sounds like he is saying when the ac kicks on while running the genny the genny Boggs. This is normal to a point. The genny is a big load so when it kicks on you’ll hear a slight difference in noise which will smooth out within a second. If it Boggs and smokes while the compressor is on though you need new plugs and probably an adjustment in chokenor carb

sounds like just the load that A/C and microwave are using is making it throttle up/down.
