Awesome part of Michigan!  Easy to pop to Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Charlevoix....  definately worth the trip.

From Traverse you aren't far form Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island.  Those are pretty much "must-see".

Oh and about 30-45 minutes North of the Mackinaw Bridge is Sault Ste Marie and the famous Soo (pronounced sue) Locks.  They have boat tours that go through the locks.

Whitefish Point lighthouse is about an hour West of there.  They have artifacts from the Edmund Fitzgerald including her bell.

Lots to see up North.

Looked like a nice place. There was an RV park that you could buy a space there.
