Engine shutdown alarm

Greetings,

Having an issue recently with a faulty IAC, coming back to idle resulted in the engine shutting off and with all the background noise of the lock and water I didn't realize immediately until I looked at the tach and saw it dead. So it would be good to have an alternative buzzer sounding if the ignition is on but motor not running.

Has anyone setup such an engine shutdown alarm on their vessel?

Regards,

Ian

Yes, does the usual solid signal for 2-3s when the ignition is on then goes off. I thought there would be an alert if engine isn’t running when ignition left on but not so looking for a solution. I could wire something up if I knew where to get an engine running signal from.
