Well, it's interesting for sure, but it's an expensive choice for an emergency flashlight.  If you need to store a flashlight for 20+ years, it's a good solution. If not, $30 would buy a lot of conventional flashlights.

No batteries to deal with....and on a boat you always have water, might not have fresh batteries!

Out of curiosity, I researched this item a little bit, and it turns out to be not so great. Light output is very weak and most users report complete failure after 2-3 uses and consider it a complete waste of money. Much better alternatives available for comparable or less price.
