Six inches of the fluffy here in DC ... local population in full sensory overload.  Lobbyists for the beer/wine industry made an impassioned plea to Fairfax County Public Schools to wave off for tomorrow, so teachers can get an early start on their day's drinking.

The Federal Government has decided to temporarily re-open just so they can close for the storm.

They caved and closed what's left of the Federal Government.  And yes, almost all schools.

Connecticut 6in snow on Sunday and Monday 5° during the day and negatives at night. Time to put a couple more sticks in the fire.

The Washington Post reported some shocking news that is sure to raise alarms and generate click-throughs for their advertisers.  The Polar Vortex of Doom has fractured, so our weather will get colder in the next couple weeks, and February could well be our coldest month of the year.   

Well, duh.  February is always our coldest month.  That's some hard-hitting reporting.

I'm sure my sunburn will feel nice when I get back home tomorrow night in that cold weather. Thank goodness I'll have the weekend and plenty of firewood!

Thanks!  It's funny ... people here only know about white snow.  It never sticks around long enough to turn ugly.  Pretty, then gone in a week.
