Reading a real interesting article in power and motor yacht ( that I get free somehow) and an interview with his youngest son.....they did not go "yachting" but boating hands on. George bush Sr. also a speed freak on the water...

George H.W. Bush was an avid boater. To his regret, in 1991 he signed a "luxury tax" on boats over $100K that decimated the boating industry. It was repealed two years later.

Yes @andyd it was repealed but it ruined and damaged a lot of companies that were doing their best to stay in production. Hurt American boat builders.
