Interesting. Meant for commercial/high hour users or superyachts. The outboard is 2x the cost of a gas powered version per reviews. Take a load of hours to even get close to a payback on fuel.

With a gas outboard it would go 38 knots.

30 knots was cruise. Without watching again I forgot what was top speed. I think they said the lower unit was belt driven? They shifted back and forth very fast and no clunk

Pretty cool!  I'm sure there will be those select (commercially) that will be something like this to put many hours on.

Wet clutch for shifting. The synchronous belt drive has a lot of plus points, just not as power dense as gears; it is a wear part though. Probably the likes of a Gates Carbon belt. Just keep the belt dry!

Yeah I dont understand the cost. Seems like they want to make all their R & D costs back with the first 20 engines sold .
