Trips planned for this boating season

I'm so eager to get on some nice long boating trips that maybe it will help to just talk about them and dream of those days coming soon.

So, here are just a couple of the trips that I'm planning for this upcoming summer:

Last week of June thru 4th of July (300-350 mile trip)...
Anchor out 1st night in Solomons (little under halfway to VA beach)
Next day, get to VA beach
After 4 nights in VA beach (& two of them enjoying their "Sandstock" festival - look it up, lots of fun!), then head to one of our favorite marinas called Salt Ponds.  Very different from the busyness at the beach.  One of the best unknown places on the Chesapeake.
After 2 nights there, go back to our little anchorage in Solomons only to get up early and dock in at Spring Cove marina for 2 nights.  We love the area of Solomons Island!

August trip (200 - 250 miles, depending on extension):
Head out to Pirates & Wenches in Rock Hall.  Anchor for 3 nights and pretend to be pirates for two full days!  (start to really feel like a pirate too! :) )
From there, we head north to our favorite anchorage in Still Pond (yes, same place we do Rinkervous).  It is a nice quiet Sunday evening there recouping from the pirate days.
Next two (maybe 3) nights are up on the Bohemia at Bohemia Bay Yacht Harbor.  Nice friendly marina with a pool.
Then head back south, to either Sassafras or back to Still Pond for a night (or two) of anchoring.  Both are great places to explore and enjoy the darkness at night.  Usually are there during the meteor showers in August.
Then finish off the trip with two nights at the old Sailing Emporium (now called Haven Harbour 2).  Haven't been there since it changed ownership, but hoping it still has that local owner feel and tranquility.
We may extend the trip from 10 days to about 15 and go down to the Hyatt in Cambridge to really relax and feel all the comforts of several pools (including adult infinity pool), slides, hot tubs, mini golf, game room)

Let's hear about any trips that you all have planned for the summer!!

I just posted about a 300 mile-ish Lake Erie trip for this year.  That's on top of the boat club rendezvous and weekend anchor-on-the-hook times.

Crescent Boat Club to NYC and back, around 300 mile round trip, spend a week cruising and looking around. Planning July/August with a few from the club.

Wow these sound like some great trips(except yours Handy, sorry)! We are hoping to get back to the Lake St. Claire area this summer but still working on firming things up. Also we loved going to Pelee Island/Canada last year so we will be headed back there.

@Liberty44140 let me know when you find your way to LSC.  Our plan for Pele Island this year is to be there Aug 1st and 2nd.

It would be a great trip to go to Disney by boat.  They need to dig a canal and have a nice marina there.  Really, a cool idea!  it could be a stop off the ICW!

Oh there  you go.  Dig a canal from Tampa or Cape Canaveral to Orlando.  Or do both so loopers had an even shorter short cut through Florida.

Disney would be the last place I want to go.

That looks like a great trip I’ve boated on the lower Hudson for years but never north of Kingston

Might do NYC to Chesapeake Bay, meet a hauler and then have him drop it back in somewhere North East Florida and then head to the keys from there. Will depend on if the boat gets sold or not (looking at a 42 ft something to live on in KL today)

That sounds like a fun trip!  I've done part of it, from Atlantic City south.

Other than the many other trips I'll be making to Lake Powell, for my birthday in June, we'll be spending a week, 90 miles uplake in the Escalante. Very serene, very remote part of the lake. It is heaven.

It was last time and looking forward to it again. Let me know if you choose to venture more north and then through the flight west into the Mohawk.

J3ff, you still have the 270? I love the idea of cruising to NYC and the Chesapeake on a 27 footer and then taking her to Florida. I am very interested in stretching the legs on my 270 to further destinations, your trips are an inspiration.

It's mainly because I'm too cheap to get a boat with twins :) Yes still have it, the 42 I looked at earlier is a no-go.

J3ff that is exactly why we went with the 270, didn't want the added expense and upkeep of twins with out drives in salt water.  The 270 is one of the largest single engine express cruisers around.

We are doing many trips to block island RI.  Its about 21 miles from our home port so we head most weekends. Also planning a 2 week trip to Cuttyhunk MA, Martha's Vineyard MA, and Nantucket.  Which will end up being about a 250 mile round trip.
We will likely do another longer trip but we haven't planned it yet.
I'm hoping the boat is floating by 4/15 so we can start the season. Lots of work left to do between now and then...

Here's where I'm headed on Lake Powell this summer. It's 90 miles from the closest Marina, very remote, and I love it! That's a pic of my old Chaparral

For those in the SE: I'm planning to run from CHS to Beaufort for the Water Festival in July. We'll anchor out for a few nights and return when we get tired of it all. It's not 300 miles, but it is a good 3 tanks of fuel round trip.

Might also try to drag the boat to Tampa and spend a few days at anchor around there.
