I found a ring terminal broken on a bonding jumper on my transom assembly, I just need to crimp a new one on. Anyone know where I can pick one up easily?
Thanks @Cableguy Greg , it’s too bad if I have to buy the whole kit just because of one broken terminal. I have coated brass rings, but not sure how it will hold up in the salt water?
My coworker happened to have a stainless jumper in his tool box. My gut told me to try and pry a terminal off and reuse it on the original jumper, ambition swayed me otherwise. When I went to remove the screw holding on the jumpers, the head snapped off. Instead of trying to drill out the stainless screw and removing it, I drilled and re-tapped a new hole. Nothing ever goes as planned .
Looks good! I’ve got the same situation and trying to find small parts locally to reattach is not easy. No one seems to stock stainless electrical eyes. I like the idea of tapping a new hole, may do that since my wire seems to be too short. How hard was it to drill?
@Liberty44140 it was very easy to drill and tap the aluminum. I put some tape on the drill bit to mark the screw length so I didn't over drill the hole too much. Tap with some WD-40 on the tap and your good to go.
