Looking for Magma rail grill mount, found the one pictured somewhere on this forum but now cant find it, love grilling out.

it might work but doesnt look as portable as the one I pictured. The west marine version is fixed mount, not easily removable for storage. 
Thanks for the west marine link , might be an alternative

That's the only one you're considering?  Scotty makes one that fits into scotty rod holders. And then there's a clamp down system I believe that is sold by Magma themselves.

It looks a bit too close to the seat cushion to me. But then again I like to flame broil, LOL.

Try to check out downwindmarine. They have rail mounts for the Magma.

have you considered moving away from your all those things that can melt or burn ?   Also the grease/splash factor.

Yeah, that'd work, but I had the one that didn't have the extension brackets ... Mine sat right above the rail. If that grill is to be permanently fixed to the rail, you will have problems in bouncy seas, whereas the one I had didn't move at all as the grill sat over the rail.

Was googling magma mounts and found this old thread and was wondering which one did you pick. Carelessly bought Magma Newport 2 (https://grillguru.org/best-pontoon-boat-grill/#product_3) and did find out the mounting system is not included.

I mounted mine on the plat form exact same spot as dirty thirty...I only put it on the boat when I plan on using it...

That is my buddy's boat, I'll find out that exact mount for you.

Does anyone know what kind of pole holder this mount goes into? This is the mount I have (came with boat) and I never have found the type of holder it goes in. I guess I should ask what type or where do I get that receiver to put it in?

Looks like a Perko rod holder. They’re all very similar though so I’m guessing it’s universal 1.5” diameter?

Is your rod holder straight vertical down, or is it angled into the gunwale?

 I just have what the 280 came with which is straight down but it's too small to fit the grill mount. I think it is this mount I need and just remove the small one the boat came with and place this there instead.

Then it looks like it's the right mount ... just check as others have said the hole diameter

This never occurred to me and I've never seen it till now but this is a perfect area to mount the grill. I didn't want it on the swim deck since I have SeaDek and didn't want to cut it.

It is a good spot, but what if people are swimming while the grill is on and they want to get back on the boat?

No swimming while grilling, It's a new rule 😉. Good point though but I'll still have the pole holder mount as well if it's an issue. Also the ladder can already be down and since they're wet they won't burn as bad

Just use a few washers on each bolt (between the seadek and the base) instead of cutting the seadek and it won’t compress it excessively. I had this dilemma on my old boat and was happy with that approach. I think the BBQ mount under the ladder hatch is suboptimal.

Oh that's cool you have the cooler. For now I will mount it in the pole holder since I have that mount already just had to order the proper receiver for the boat for $30. I'll probably put it like the example I posted at some point since for us swimming isn't priority and we can adjust as needed. Hot days swimming with canvas off use the pole holder but on cooler days with the canvas up and no swimming we can use the swim deck mount.
