192 Prop Help? Newbie!
Hi Guys, Im fairly new to boating and I have a few questions.
I just purchased a 1997 Rinker Captiva 192 Bow Rider and the guy I purchased the boat from just put on a brand new prop. I was wondering if its the right prop for this boat and I have a buddy with a Stainless Prop he wants to give me. Just wondering if it will fit.
I will give you as much info as i can to start off with.
1997 Rinker Captiva 192 BR
4.3L LX Alpha 1 Gen+ 2bb
Gear Ratio 1.81
The prop I have on the boat right now is an Aluminum 21P x14.25" . The boat seems to plane quickly and runs 50mph (Speedo) @ 4800-5000 at WOT with no rev limiter. 38-40 @4000
Now the prop that My friend has is a Stainless Steel Mirage Plus 21P x 14.75"
Now my Questions are..
1. Is the aluminum prop the right prop for my boat and do the speeds and RPM's look ok?
2. Will the Stainless Steel prop fit my boat and what might the difference be between the two props?

mvn Member, Moderator Posts: 754 modThe 21" aluminum is the correct stock prop as far as I know. Your numbers look OK. Have you verified your maximum WOT rpm specs for your engine?
The stainless one will work. Your WOT RPM may DROP slightly as the stainless prop will not flex unlike the aluminum one. Also, you should be able to swing a 14 3/4 with room to spare.
Can you try before you buy?

Thanks Mark
I was looking to bring the RPM's down 200 closer to 4800 at WOT.
Im probably going to try the Mirage plus later this week.
