Head and kitchen metal sink care

Hi all,

Hoping for some help from experienced boaters with cabins. I have a 2013 290ec and I just can’t seem to prevent the head sink and the kitchen sink, both metal, from rusting. We have literally gotten to the point that we are paranoid about leaving even a drop of water in there for fear that it will create a rust spot.

Does anyone have advice on how to maintain and seal the sinks so that they don’t rust so easily? Any products out there?

Clean them with a non abrasive cleaner, no bleach and when dry wipe them down well with mineral oil and then wipe again just to take the bit of shine down. The mineral oil will both help clean and protect the stainless.

Steel wool is a disaster on stainless. Use brass wool. Woody Wax products are awesome on stainless.

I just tried the woody wax on my non skid last week it seems to work good

For cleaning we use Bar Keepers Friend - www.barkeepersfriend.com/cleaning-products/cleanser/ - with a Scotch-Brite non-scratch sponge and then a light coat of mineral oil like @Willhound suggested. Works great for us.

I agree with bar keepers friend or use Flitz.  Flitz is fantastic on all metals.  I've been using it for many years.
