Dash refresh

Refreshing the dash to make the '03 look newer.  Here's step 1.

    Nice work!  I just bought vynil wrap to cover my gauge panel and then paint the gauges

    Thank you.  If the rattle can job doesn't hold up I'll wrap it in vinyl or send it off to get hydrodipped.  It looks good with the stainless steel cupholders we added.

    I was able to get a full set of new panels through GLS for our 320. I replaced the easy one, the ignition panel, but am sooo afraid to tackle the switches by myself. Any advice with the gauges and switches?

    The gauges were easy.  Each had connectors that just unplugged.  Once you get the panel off, it becomes obvious how the gauges disconnect from the panels.  I'm tackling the switch panel and ignition panel when my new rocker covers come.

    Take a picture of switches before you start so you know which switch cover goes where.  Also remove one switch body at a time and place it in the new panel. Don’t want to mix them up as they are not all the same.

    The switch panel was easy, too.  Everything lined up.  I didn't have to worry about getting switches in the wrong place.

    Here is my attempt at hydrodipping my 342 dash. Not bad for my first attempt. I used Plasti Dip as my base coat so that I could remove it if I did not like it...

    I'll do the switch and ignition panel next. Wanted to try this first to see if I could do it.

    Here's the latest. Still a bunch of imperfections but I really like the look. I will redo everything in the fall when the boat is home on the hard. Between now and then I'll practice with some different shapes so I can get better at it.

    I have a 1992 260 Fiesta V that I'm restoring slowly. Both my wife and I hate the dash....not sure if I want to fool around with 26 year old wiring.

    Gearshift, I did mine on a 93 260 Fiesta V and I am so glad i did. It was a rat nest but now everything works great and I sured up the helm to make sure it would last. Use the search box and put in "1994 fiesta Vee 265 dash panel". It has some good pictures that you may find interesting.

    As previously stated, gonna re do my dash over the winter. 1st step is to remove the hydrodip. I can do this pretty easy because my basecoat was plasti-dip....

    Figured I'd update this post....I removed the old hydrodip and attempted to re do it. Long story short,  it just didnt work out. I was running out of time so I just clear coated my base plasti-dip and put it all back together. To be honest, I like this a lot better....

    Great job SoulGravy! All of my gauge panels are the same as yours and are crumbling from deterioration. Also, looking to do a refresh. Any suggestions of where I can purchase either new or used panels. Thanks. Easybee!
