Water in the oil filter

Greetings to all,

just bought a 2005 Rinker 25 foot with a 350 mag mercruiser engine and a bravo III out Drive. The mechanic that tested the boat for me was also hired to perform the first service. When he removed the oil filter, a brown mud came out. Water in the filter! We checked cylinders, spark plugs were good and dry, compression was between 125 and 150 to the eight cylinders. Could it be a leak from the exhaust? Any other ideas? Thank you.

    Was the boat sitting for a long time?  Was the oil milky when he changed it from the pan?  Change the oil and filter and run the boat.  Check the oil again for signs of water in the oil.  Go from there.

    Could be multiple things that cause water in the oil.  Cracked block, blown head gasket, exhaust flappers ect.

    Exhaust flappers! We replaced them. Will change the oil again. Spark plugs have been changed recently. Changed gaskets too. Thank you.

    How are your manifolds/risers condition?  Do you operate in salt?

    Hello all, does anyone know if the 2005 Rinker Fiesta Vee 250 is the same design with the 2007+ models?
    I am trying to order deck carpets, one vendor told me he has them but the info indicates 2007+ models and I can't tell from the blueprint. Thanks
