  There was a separate switch at my helm for that light, I can't remember if it was called cabin light or something ... but definitely a separate switch, I did not have to turn on my cockpit lights for it to be on.

  Mine turns on with the cockpit lights as well.

  Mine are also all on one switch, but would like them separate. Admiral usually hits the rack before me and doesn't like the light on at the steps while I sit above. One of the reasons I went with LED speakers in the cockpit. I get light, she gets dark.
