Removing generator

I was wondering if anyone has removed their generator before. I was looking at it the other day and was wondering if it is just the four self taping screws that hold it to the floor or are there other fasteners that go through the base.  I was hoping to lift the unit enough to clean up some rust on the main pan. I have a 2005 320 Thanks

Yep those screws are wood screws and back out, the challenge is the electrical connections, take pics!

If you can clean the oil off the rust areas, use POR-15 on the rust and then finish coat.

Thanks for the input. I was hoping to get the pan off and have it sand blasted and then refinish. I was wondering if the generator to pan bolts go right into the floor of the boat or is it just the four self tapers that hold it to the floor . The self tapers go through the black mounting pad , thanks

If you get the pan off and get it blasted, have it powder coated also. Will be well protected if powder coated.

I believe the Gen bolts to the pan, then the pan to the hull.

Better off getting the pan sprayed with bed liner

    Build a composite pan.

Wants something starts to rust I don't think your going to stop it with anything...i get some sheet galvanized metal and make one, would not be hard...or better yet some aluminum. So if I have a 4x4 post across the sides, that should support the gent? As much as I want to put the motor back in I'd sure like to replace mine...i guess I can do that later...better to get back on the water....just got my new elbows....400 bucks delivered. Probably won't have cheap parts from china much longer...
