Flooring Question- 2001 340

I have been doing my research on pulling carpet out and replacing with tile planks.

Question I have is, has anyone done the kitchen table area as well as the steps beside the bed?

I have seen the floors done and I am pretty confident that job wouldn't be much of a technical struggle, just a hassle getting the carpet out.  If anyone has taken the carpet out from the side step at the kitchen as well as the top kitchen and replaced with vinyl or tile please shoot me some info or post some photos.  Thanks in advance

    I left those areas in place because of the challenge.

    I think I am going to go for it.  Or at least the kitchen area for sure.  The steps by the front birth I can let go.  I start demo next week.

    And so it has begun.  Actually getting the carpet up wasn't as bad as I had thought.  Now I havent done the kitchen part ye .  Going to finish the bottom for I tackle that part.  Also my AC hpf sensor went bad so it was a little hot, going to wait till I can install the new one before I get back to the floor.


    I do have some questions though regarding how the floor isnt level.  How did yall go about getting it level?

    Since I used Lonseal it didn't matter.  If you want/need it to be level you'll need some kind of sub-floor like in a house.

    You can use some fiberglass filler like kitty hair to smooth out some areas I  replaced the wood under the table and glued a piece of 1/8 in plywood over the main cabin floor then Lon seal over that

    Just bought my vinyl planks!  Looks like this weekend is a go!

    So how did you prep the floor before laying it down?

    Yes I did glue it down.

    Prep was to pull carpet.
    Scrape off all old glue
    DA Sander with 50 grit 
    Vacuum and mop
    Spray an IPA
    Air dry
    Glue and go!
