fuel sending unit

in Rinker Express Cruisers Forum
I have a 2000 Rinker 310, need to replace the port fuel sending unit.  How can I access?  I can see it but seems impossible to access.

    If it is like our 2003 FV310, you are lucky it's the port sender and if you don't have a generator. (Starboard is a forget it, go off the port gauge) Without the gen you get to work your way into sitting down in that space and reach in to the top of the tank and the sender - it's just in reach. Cup holders above can be popped out for light and a buddy to guide you reaching in.

    Yeah @rasbury - bigger boat, wider beam, 2 engines don’t mean more room! Recent impeller changes involved laying over the engines and hanging down to get the pumps off.

    I have to lay in-between motor and Genny to  do the same..power steering pump was fun too...if I had hoist I think i'd be pulling the motor, it would be easier!

    Isn't it screwed down to a flange on the gas tank?  Make sure the gas tank isn't too full, otherwise it can leak from there once you untighten the sender.

    Yes, 5 screw SAE pattern. Also a good reason to have a buddy look through the cup holder to see the screw holes align. And yes, a job to do not too full - and in stable water.
