I've had the issue since purchasing the boat.  thoughts on how to fix?  what kind of adhesive?

Mine has pulled away a bit also. Doesn't help that people(including me) tend to naturally grab it on the way up and down the stairs. Been thinking of some kind of grab rail but can't figure out where and how to attach it. Maybe screws are the answer?

    I'd use either 4000 or 4200.  (I'd say 4200 actually)

I would use 4000 or Life Caulk. 4200 isn't UV rated and will yellow over time.

You're right, I did mean to say 4000.  I've been using 4000 right now on all of my caulking around the boat.

Didn't even consider screws...that could work.  I also have a tube of 4000 on hand.  I didn't think 4000 would have enough adhesion
