High Level Electrical Overview

mipandmipand Member Posts: 13
Hello - I am learning how to understand my 2005 Rinker 320 electrical system.  I have attached a diagram of how I think it works.  Most likely there are things wrong with this diagram. I am looking for someone to identify what is wrong.  Thanks in advance for critiquing this diagram.

Usually the alternators feed the isolator which feed the batteries.

I have a diagram from Rinker of the wiring of my boat.  I thought I saw one for the 320 around here.  I'll see if I can scare it up.

I wouldn't mind a copy of yours too @Stodge as it may be closer to my 2003 310 than the 2004 342 drawing I have.

That's the one I have (2004 342) @icoultha.  But I thought I saw a 320 diagram posted here recently.  Heck if I can find it though.

Maybe that's where I got the one I have - from you. I cannot find a 310 anywhere.

Stodge -  is there only one isolator for both engines or 2?  Also,  where I currently have the isolator, should there be a ACR?  Or is that part of the charger?

The idea of an isolator is to allow different number of engines and battery banks.  So you have 2 engines, but likely 3 battery banks (port starter, starboard starter, house).  There should only be 1 of them.  It's usually looks like a metal box with several screw posts (with wires attached) on the face.

I have not seen an ACR on my boats.  Not sure if you have one or not.  From the description it would seem redundant since your battery charger should have 3 banks and match up 1:1 to your battery banks.

Reneechris14  there is no problem, I made a diagram to try and understand how the electrical system works.  Just looking to see if I understand it correctly.

Thanks for the schematic and pics!  This definitely helps me understand the isolator.
