Engine hatch will not close 2007 Rinker 270V

We had our boat tuned up a few days ago.  We went out on the water the day after and the boat ran fine until we were coming back in the marina it started stalling out.  The RPM would go up then it would stall out.  We made it to our slip and opened the engine hatch to see what was going on and now the engine hatch will not close.  Any suggestions what is going on?  Could it be something to do with the stalling or is it totally something unrelated?  Is there anything I should be trying to get the hatch to close?

    It's possible that your alternator failed and killed your batteries. Not enough voltage left to close the hatch. Check the voltage at the batteries, or hook up a jump box and see what happens. Can you hook up to shore power?

    Check the wire connectors at the base of the actuator.  Unplug and plug them a few times to see if there's a corrosion issue.  

    On mine, I'd also check for loose connections on the back of the panel that has the battery switches.  But yours might be wired differently.

    When shore power is on the battery charger has to be on also. Test light or volt meter to check leads on the ram.

    Thanks for the help everyone.  We fixed it but just for future information for anyone with the same issue we removed the pin and greased it and it works fine now

    can you explain plz=the pin that attaches the lift to the engine hatch ?

    Remove the pin attached to the hatch and clean it.  You need to grease the lower part of the actuator.
