I bought my 342 up in Michigan and had it transported to Lake Cumberland. I used a company called Mirror Image Transport. They have the Low-Boy Trailers that are needed for the 342. The 342 radar arch is on hinges and folds down under transport as well. The total cost was about $1800.00. Might be worth a call. Call Mike at 586-615-3251. This was back in 2010.
Quite sure about the hinges. Had to use a solvent to get the tape marks off the arch where it was taped down. The transporter told me he could make the height for all the Highway bridges due to the arch folding down and the Low-Boy trailer. He hauled a bunch of 342's for a Marine Dealer who recommended him.
Ok. Let me clarify. I never actually saw the arch when it was "hinged". Just going by what the transporter guy told me. I probably stand corrected. Sorry for the confusion.
The arch does come off, 3 bolts per side, plus cutting the caulk at the windows/base. I'm certain it can be hinged, but it would be a custom job. $$$ I bet.
