Captiva 262ss

Hey everyone! New to the site but not new to boating! Why is there so many people that give the 262ss a bad rap? No it's not a Baja or a Fountain but I feel like it's a great boat! Am I missing something?

    Where are you seeing that it's getting a bad rap?  I'm actually not even familiar with that model.  Are you currently thinking about buying one, or do you own one already?  Welcome to the Rinker page!

    Thank You! I own one. Offshoreonly forums talk about how it's not a performance boat and not worth the money. Rinker made the Captiva 262ss for I think 2 years. 2002 and 2003. My avatar is a picture of mine. I've had several boats and I love my SS!

    Amen! So many people out there that have to be negative and talk bad about other brands. If you dont own what they have then its junk lol!

    I always loved the 262ss. I got to ride on one that had the 496HO in it. The marina owner took me out and got her up on plane and all trimmed out. Hit upper 60’s on the river. They kept the stepped hull when they changed the 262ss to the 262 in 2004ish.

    Riding in one sold me on it! And I really like the look of them. I wish Rinker would come out with a new one. Mines got the 496 mag **** and love it!

    I checked out a few 262's on youtube.  That is a beautiful boat!  We are completely happy with out 232, but if something changes in the future, that one will be on my radar for a bit larger cuddy.

    Your cuddy might actually have more headroom. I bought it because of the offshore standup bolster seats and the sleek look.

     welcome to the forum. They change numbers and model's every couple years. Looks the about the same as 276 now.  It is a great boat, nice find.
